Writing | Storm Leaves Lasting Impact
As I headed to Yancheng, in the eastern province of Jiangsu, to report on the first anniversary of a tornado that changed thousands of villagers' lives, I reviewed the facts.
I knew the death toll had reached 99, and I had read that thousands of locals lost their homes, more than 850 were injured and many others lost their jobs.

Writing | Zhangjiajie: Pinnacle of Beauty
We left the big cities behind us and made our way into Zhangjiajie, prefecture city of Hunan province. Mountains and hills replaced clusters of skyscrapers, and I started to truly appreciate China for being much more than huge metropolises.
The next morning I looked out my window to see the fog engulfed hills, and I was hit with a surge of excitement. We were taking a trip to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, otherwise known for its CGI likeness in the movie Avatar, the perfect pinnacle to our trip in Hunan province. Read More.

Writing | To tour, or not to tour
Inner Mongolia autonomous region enchants people as a natural escape with sprawling landscapes, captivating culture and fresh air that city dwellers rarely experience. However, its gargantuan size also seems overwhelming.
At least that's how I felt when trying to plan a trip to this destination. There seemed to be two viable options: hop on a preplanned tour or try to figure out an alternative route by hiring a driver.
